The $200 to $500 mountain bike price bracket is for those who want to go the next step or want to experience a more robust hardtail mountain bike (generally front only suspension). The first of the softtail mountain bikes (sometime known as full suspension mountain bikes) are emerging in this price bracket but again, don’t expect top performance or long life.
